ACC quizzes ex-minister Ruhul Haque

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has quizzed former Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. A. F. M. Ruhal Haque for the allegation of earning wealth illegally.

Deputy Director of ACC Mirza Jahidul Alam interrogated him at fifth floor of Anti-Corruption commission headquarters in the capital from 10:40am.

According to the affidavit submitted by Ruhul Haque to Election Commission (EC), balance of his and his wife’s bank account has increased ten times during last five years which was Tk 92.36 lakhs only previously.

Ruhul Haque bank balance was around TK 88 lakh in 2008. Now it has increased to TK 2.63 crore while his wife’s bank balance increased 165 times which was Tk 4 lakhs and now the amount is Tk 7.53 crore.

On the other hand, AFM Ruhul Haque applied to Election Commission to correct his affidavit. But the EC did not take any decision about it yet.

Besides, ACC is investigating into about former Minister of Public Works and Housing Abdul Mannan Khan, Ex state Minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman, Member of the parliament Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency Abdur Rahman Badi, Dhaka-14 constituency Member of the Parliament Aslamul Haque, Rajshahi-4 constituency Member of the Parliament Enamul Haque.
