Now bounty Tk 5 lakh for 2 JMB

DHAKA: Bangladesh Police on Monday increased the bounty amount to Tk 5 lakh from Tk 2 lakh for each of the two Jama`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) convicts snatched from prison van in Mymensingh district.

AIG (Media) Jalal Uddin Ahmed of police Headquarters confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Snatched JMB convicts--Salauddin Ahmed alias Salehin and Zahidul Islam alias Boma Mizan--are still absconding. The bounty money announced to catch them.

Another JMB member Rakib, 35, who was snatched and later held on Sunday, was killed in a gunfight between his cohorts and law enforcers in Sakhipur of Tangail early Monday.

Rakib was awarded death sentence earlier for the murder of Joseph Gani Gomez Mandal.

Earlier on Sunday, three convicts of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) escaped from a prison van at Trishal upazila in Mymensingh district.

A police man was killed and two injured when JMB cadres snatched the prisoners at gunpoint in a daring attack in broad daylight.
