The Election Commission (EC) is set to start a door-to-door voter list update campaign from January 20, confirmed officials on Monday (Dec 30). 

Senior EC officials said that this year's campaign would include collecting data for individuals turning 18 by January 1, 2026, a step not taken in the past two years.

Currently, trainers are undergoing training, which is expected to conclude by January 5. They will then train data collectors before the fieldwork begins. 

Following the data collection, a draft voter list will be published on January 2, 2026, with the final list set for release on March 2, 2026.

The last door-to-door voter list update was conducted in 2022, which included data for 2023, 2024, and 2025.
