Met office predicts dry weather across country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted dry weather across the country for the next 24 hours, beginning from this morning.

“Weather may remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky over the country,” stated the forecast issued at 9 am today.

The ridge of a sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and its adjoining areas, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending to the Northeast Bay.

Moderate to dense fog is expected from midnight to morning, potentially persisting until noon in some areas. Thick fog may temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication.

Night temperatures are predicted to drop slightly in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions, while remaining nearly unchanged elsewhere. Day temperatures may decrease by 2-3°C in the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, increase by 1-2°C in the Rajshahi division, and remain stable in other regions.

The dense fog is likely to cause a lingering cold sensation during the daytime.

On Tuesday, Teknaf recorded the highest temperature at 29.5°C, while Dinajpur recorded the lowest at 10.6°C this morning.

In the capital, the sun is expected to set at 5:22 pm today and rise at 6:42 am tomorrow.
