Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today (Jan 2) called on everyone to cultivate work habits focused on the welfare of others in their daily lives.
He also said social service is a shared responsibility and reminded the public not to forget their duty to serve society.
He made these remarks while inaugurating the Walkathon and Social Service Conference on Manik Mia Avenue, organized by the Department of Social Services to mark National Social Service Day-2025.
Professor Yunus said that working for the welfare of others is more fulfilling than focusing solely on oneself.
He also urged individuals to contribute to the country’s progress, highlighting that the collective power of the people is greater than that of any government.
Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S. Murshid and student representatives from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement also shared their thoughts on the importance of social service in the event.
