Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman visited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence on Thursday night to inquire about her health.
The Army chief, accompanied by his wife, arrived at Khaleda’s residence, Feroza, around 8:30 pm, where they were received by Maj Gen (retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar.
BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan congirmed the matter.
During the 40-minute visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman expressed his wishes for the BNP leader’s swift recovery.
This marks the second meeting between the Army chief and Khaleda Zia, with their first encounter taking place on 21 November during the Armed Forces Day event at Senakunja in Dhaka Cantonment.
The former prime minister has long suffered from liver cirrhosis, diabetes, arthritis, and complications related to her kidney, lung, heart, and eyes. Last year, she underwent a procedure called TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) to address liver-related issues.
