A man was killed a car-truck collided in Patiya’s Vatikhan area on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Habib, 30. 

Habib, a resident of Pubail in Gazipur, was declared dead by doctors at Patiya Health Complex after being rushed there in critical condition.

The injured—Naeem, 32, Rubel, 30, Mamun, 30, and Mamun, 22,—also from Gazipur, received initial treatment at the health complex before being transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for advanced care.

Patiya Police Station Sub-Inspector Mosharraf confirming the matter said the damaged car was taken to the Highway Police Station, while the truck driver fled the scene. 

Habib’s body remains at Patiya Health Complex, the official added.
