DHAKA: A youth was killed as a hearse hit him in front of the north gate of the national mosque Baitul Mokarram in city’s Paltan area on Tuesday noon.

The deceased was identified as M Alamgir, 25, son of Syed Mohammad and a workshop worker, hailed from Bhola district.

Police sources said that a hearse knock Alamgir down while he was crossing the road in the area in the noon, leaving him injured critically.

However, locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on duty doctor declared him dead.

In-Charge of DMCH police outpost Inspector M Mojammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
