DHAKA: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) Tuesday approved five development projects including the safe drinking water and sanitation facilities project involving Tk 615 crore.

The approval came from ECNEC meeting at the capital’s Sher-e-Banglanagar with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

Disclosing the matter immediately after the meeting, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the total cost would come from the government own fund.

The minister also added that the ECNEC so far has approved 168 development projects in current fiscal year involving Tk 97,242 crore.

The meeting was attended, among others, by ministers, members of the Planning Commission, Secretaries.
