Bomb wounded Awami man dies

NOAKHALI: Seriously injured in a bomb explosion on Monday night at Ossodia of the town Awamil activists Mehbub Ahmed, 38, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

Mehbub was son of Monir Ahmed of Nittanondapur village under Kadir Hanif union of Sadar upazilla of the district.

Noakhali Sadar Upazilla Awami League President Advocate Shihab Uddin Shahin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The AL activist received injury in a bomb attack on Monday night 8:00pm at Badarpur under Ossodia union along with another Awami Leader Milon.

They were admitted to the Noakhali General Hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Residential physician of Noakhali General Hospital Dr Farid Uddin told banglanews that Mehbub lost his both hands and Milon’s face was burnt.

Locals said they were wounded while going Badarpur area by motorbike.

Officer-in-Charge of Sudharampur Thana Mosharrof Hossain said a case was filed in this connection.
