Arms-thief killed in Magura

MAGURA: A youth was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Gobra village under Shalikha upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Razu Biswas, 25, son of Jalil Biswas of Harishpur village.

Shalika thana officer-in-charge Biplob Kumer Nath told banglanews that Razu allegedly steal an Short Machine Gun of police from Gobra Panchapolli High School vote center early Thursday.

Later, police arrested Razu on Saturday morning. After interrogation, he admitted involvement of stealing and recovered it from a banana garden near to his home.

Later, police along with Razu, went to at Gobra village to recover more arms. During the time, his cohorts attacked police and he tried to flee the scene that triggered a gunfight.

Later, police recovered a pistol, six round of bullet and a sharp knife.

Razu was caught in the line of fire, leaving him dead on the spot.
