The police headquarters has urged dismissed officers not to block roads and cause public suffering while protesting their job termination under the previous government.
In a statement issued on Friday (January 31) by Assistant Inspector General Inamul Haque Sagar, the police headquarters said that 1,522 reinstatement applications had already been received. Among the applicants, 1,025 are constables, 79 are nayeks, 180 are ASIs or ATSIs, 200 are SIs, sergeants, or TSIs, 10 are inspectors, and 28 are non-police personnel.
A committee led by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) is reviewing the applications to determine whether the officers were dismissed due to political victimization.
However, many were also terminated for criminal, financial, ethical, behavioral, or disciplinary violations. Some cases are still pending with the Administrative Tribunal or the Administrative Appellate Tribunal.
The police headquarters assured that it is working sincerely to ensure justice for dismissed officers.
