3 motorcyclists killed in Bogura road crash

Three young motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Bogura’s Adamdighi upazila on Sunday night.

The accident occurred around 10 pm on the Naogaon-Bogura road at Bashhati under Santahar municipality. 

The victims were identified as Al Hossain Mondol (19), son of Abdur Rahman Mondol from Kongkai in Dhupchanchia upazila; Shah Newaz (18), son of Ziaur Rahman from Chotodhap in the same upazila; and Mithun Pramanik (19), son of Monjurul Ali from Kazipara in Kahaloo upazila.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Azimul Haque of Santahar Police Camp confirmed the matter.

According to him, the three were returning home from the Naogaon Trade Fair on a motorcycle when a potato-laden truck coming from the opposite direction collided with them head-on, leaving them dead on the spot.

Being informed, police rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies. While the truck was seized, the driver and his assistant managed to flee, he added.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the driver and his associate, said the ASI.
