Hasnat Abdullah, convenor of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said that although the fascist Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh has fallen, the ultimate victory has not yet been achieved."
He said, "We have been able to bring down only Hasina and Ganabhaban in the entire fascist state system. However, we have not been able to abolish other elements of the state apparatus associated with Ganabhaban, nor have we achieved the final victory in the long-standing struggle of the people of this land."
Hasnat made the remarks while speaking at a press conference held on Wednesday (Feb 5) at the central office of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the capital.
Hasnat also announced the launch of a weeklong campaign aimed at collecting direct opinions from the public regarding the formation of a new party and the current political situation in the country.
He emphasized that the new party would be shaped based on the people’s views.
In the same press conference, Nasir Uddin Patwary, convener of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, declared that no adviser of the interim government would be allowed in the new party as long as they continue holding their positions.
