Nordic Day was celebrated in Dhaka on Thursday (February 6) with various events at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, Climate Change, and Water Resources, attended as the chief guest.
Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller, Norwegian Ambassador Haakon Arald Gulbrandsen, Swedish Ambassador Nicolas Weeks, and Finland’s Non-Resident Ambassador Kimmo Lähdevirta also spoke at the event.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan said the interim government prioritizes three key issues—justice, reform, and elections. Justice is the highest priority to ensure accountability for past wrongs. The government is committed to ensuring justice for those killed, injured, or blinded during past repressive regimes.
The adviser expressed gratitude to the Nordic countries for their support, saying their assistance is valuable not only to the interim government but also to civil society. She recalled receiving Nordic support even before joining the government while leading a non-governmental organization.
Diplomats, prominent figures, and policymakers from various sectors attended the event.
