A total of 566 people were arrested across the country in the past 24 hours under "Operation Devil Hunt," a special crackdown against criminals.
Including other ongoing drives, police arrested 1,665 individuals during this period.
The information was confirmed by Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police (Media & PR) Inamul Haque Sagar on Thursday evening.
During the operation, law enforcers recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, five rounds of bullets, a knife, and a sharp weapon (ramda).
According to Home Ministry, Operation Devil Hunt is a nationwide drive targeting anti-state groups, terrorists, and criminals. It began on February 8 and is being carried out simultaneously across the country.
Earlier on Tuesday, police headquarters reported the arrest of 607 individuals in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of arrests under the operation to 1,775.
