The Anti-discrimination Student Movement organized a coffin procession at Dhaka University (DU) today, demanding a ban on the ruling Awami League party.
The procession featured a coffin carrying the body of Md Hasan, 19, who went missing during protests on August 5, 2024.
His remains were recently identified at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.
The procession began at the Anti-terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture near DU's TSC intersection, following Jummah prayers and Hasan's first namaz-e-janaza. Hasan's family members and DU students attended the janaza.
Abdul Hannan Masud, the chief organizer of the movement, said, "We are calling on the government to permanently ban the Awami League. Our fight will continue until the Awami League is declared banned."
