Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhuri said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) would be reshaped if necessary.

He said this in response to a question from reporters after a meeting of the Law and Order Advisory Council Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Tuesday (February 18) afternoon.   

The Home Affairs Advisor said, “In the meeting there has been a discussion about RAB. We have sent a proposal regarding reshaping RAB. We will have to think more in this regard in the next meeting.”

When asked whether the name will be changed, he said, it will be decided in the next meeting.

When asked is the decision is regarding formation of new RAB? In response, the Home Affairs Advisor said, yes, it will be newly formed if necessary.
