Members of police arrested son of Sheikh Hasina’s driver from the capital’s Mohammadpur area.

He was arrested in a drive from Basila area on early Wednesday (February 19).

Jewel Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) of Mohammadpur Zone of Tejgaon Division, confirmed the authenticity.

He said after direction of Tejgaon Division Deputy Police Commissioner Ibne Mizan, Mohammadpur Police Station arrested Rubel Ahmed, the son of the former Prime Minister's driver Razzak Matabbar.

Rubel was hiding in the Basila Metro Housing area of Mohammadpur, he said. 

A case is being filed against him under the Anti-Terrorism Act. In addition, an anti-state case may be filed as he is involved in an anti-national conspiracy, the official added.
