The National Legal Aid Services Organization has provided legal aid to 29,075 workers at government expense from 2009 to January 2025, according to a report on its website.
Initially offering services at the district level, the program expanded with the establishment of Dhaka and Chittagong Workers' Legal Aid Cells. Of those assisted, 21,363 received legal advice, while legal action was initiated in 4,412 cases — 801 of which were successfully resolved.
Additionally, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) was used in 3,300 cases, with 1,913 settled through this process.
The service, free of charge under the 'Legal Aid Act,' aims to support financially disadvantaged individuals in accessing justice. The National Legal Aid Organization operates under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.
