Former Dhaka University professor CR Abrar is set to join the advisory council of the interim government as the Education Adviser.

He will take the oath at Bangabhaban on Wednesday (March 5) at 11 am.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the matter to journalists at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

He said Professor CR Abrar is a renowned academic of Dhaka University and will be sworn in on Wednesday. He also mentioned that Professor Wahiduddin Mahmud had been handling two ministries but found it difficult to continue due to his extensive responsibilities at the Planning Ministry.

As a result, CR Abrar is joining the advisory council to take charge of the Education Ministry, the press secretary added.
