The High Court (HC) on Sunday (March 9) has ordered Bangladesh Telecommunication Regularity Commission (BTRC) to remove images of the child from social media who was physically abused in Magura.
A HC bench comprises of Farah Mahbub and Debashish Rai Chowdhury issued the suo moto order, and asked to implement the order immediately.
The order came after Barrister Mohsin Hossain brought a newspaper report to the court’s attention regarding the circulation of the child’s images.
The court later said to Deputy Attorney General, why an eight year old child images circulating in the social media. It is violation of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act.
Later, the court directed BRTC to immediately remove the images by this afternoon, if not followed action will be taken against the people who circulated.
The victim is now receiving treatment in the capital’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

Meanwhile, three days after the rape incident, on Saturday, the child's mother filed a case with the Sadar Police Station against four people on charges of rape and attempted murder.
The arrestees are, child's brother-in-law, Sajib Hossain, 18, her sister's father-in-law, Hitu Mia, 42, Sajib Sheikh's 17-year-old brother, and their mother, Jabeda Begum, 40.
