SIRAJGANJ: A youth was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups of people at Bashra village under Shahjadpur upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Robiul Bepary, 25, son of Abdul Mojid Bepary.

Police and local sources said over establishing supremacy in the area, clans of Bepary and Fakir had a longstanding dispute.  On Thursday evening, people of Bepary clan beat up a rival group youth.

Following the matter, the two groups locked into clash with locally made weapons around 9:00am, leaving Robiul dead on the spot and injured others.

The injured were admitted to different local clinics.

Confirming the matter, Shahjadpur Thana Officer-in-charge Hasan Shamim Iqbal told banglanews that on information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
