FARIDPUR: A traffic police was killed in a road accident at Bhanga upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Manik Majumder, 48, a police constable, hailed from Chhagolchera village under Gohala union of Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district.

Tuhin Laskar, traffic police sergeant, told banglanews that Manik’s motorbike collided with an electric pole as he lost control around 10:00am, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. He died while shifting to Dhaka, he added.

The body was handed over to his relatives after autopsy.
