Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain has said that the airline ticket syndicate for Umrah has been dismantled, preventing group ticket bookings for resale at higher prices.

He made the remarks on Friday (March 21) afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center in Cox’s Bazar.

The adviser said that tickets must now be booked using the passenger’s passport number, and if not issued within three days, the booking will be automatically canceled. 

He emphasized that group ticket bookings to inflate prices will no longer be possible, as a new policy has been introduced.
