Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will discuss military cooperation with during his visit in China.
Foreign Secretary M. Jasim Uddin shared this information at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (March 25).
The briefing was arranged ahead of Yunus’ visits to China and Thailand.
In response to a question, the foreign secretary said, "There will be discussions on military cooperation with China. We consider China an important friend, and they also see us the same way."
Regarding Yunus' bilateral meeting with the Chinese president, Jasim Uddin said it has no fixed agenda, but the Teesta issue could be discussed under river management talks.
He also mentioned that during the visit, Bangladesh will seek China's view on the Rohingya issue concerning Myanmar.
On another question, he said cooperation in the health sector has increased between the two nations.
"China has established four specialized hospitals in Kunming for Bangladeshis and plans to set up one in Bangladesh as well," he added.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus will leave for China on Wednesday (March 26), marking his first bilateral visit as Chief Adviser.
After returning, he will visit Thailand on April 3 to attend the BIMSTEC Summit.
