Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today (March 26) paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar, marking the 55th Independence and National Day.
Arriving at the memorial around 6:11 am, the Chief Adviser laid a wreath at the altar and observed a moment of silence in honor of those who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 Liberation War.
A contingent from the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force presented a state salute, accompanied by a solemn bugle tune.
Among those present were the chief justice, advisers to the interim government, the chiefs of the three services, freedom fighters, foreign diplomats, and senior military and civilian officials.
After paying his respects, the Chief Adviser departed, following which the National Memorial was opened to the public for tributes.
