DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday has summoned Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman and two others in a defamation case claiming TK200 crore as compasasion for running defamatory news items.

Dhaka-4 Joint District Judge Md Abu Taher passed the order after taking the case into cognizance.

Proprietor of the Karnaphuli Ship Builders Limited and the founding Chairman of South Point School and College MA Rashid filed a Tk 200 crore defamation suit against Prothom Alo’s Editor, News Editor and it’s Comilla Correspondent on March 3.

Lawyer Md Moniruzzaman Hawlader moved for plaintiff in the hearing.
