Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today (March 30) across various regions of Bangladesh in alignment with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries.

In Chandpur, the festival is observed in several villages, including Sadra Darbar Sharif in Hajiganj Upazila. 

The first Eid jamaat (congregation) took place at Sadra Darbar Sharif ground at 9 am, led by Pirzada Maulana Mufti Zakaria Chowdhury, followed by a second prayer at Sadra Hamidiya Fazil Madrasa. 

The prayers were offered for peace and prosperity for the global Muslim Ummah and the nation. 

This tradition of aligning Eid celebrations with Saudi Arabia dates back to 1928, introduced by Pir Maulana Ishaq (RA).

Feni saw Eid congregations in two neighborhoods in Purba Sultanpur and Kolapara of Parshuram Municipality, while Barisal marked the occasion with prayers at Chandanish Allahabad Jahagiri Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif, Mirzakhali Darbar Sharif, and Ahmadiyya Jamaat, alongside a large congregation at Tanjkathi Haji Bari Shah Sufi Jamaat at 9 am.

In Bhola, about five thousand people from ten villages in five upazilas came together to celebrate Eid, continuing a century-old tradition among the followers of Sureshwar Darbar Pir. 

Bagerhat and Laxmipur also saw Eid congregations, with several mosques in these districts hosting prayers.

Patuakhali held prayers in over 30 Eidgahs and mosques, with about 6,000 devotees attending. The main Eid congregations took place at Badarpur Darbar Sharif and Kalapara Nishan Bariya Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif Maidan.

Other districts like Narayanganj, Satkhira, Jamalpur, Chapainawabganj, and Faridpur also saw widespread Eid celebrations, with multiple congregations in various villages, reflecting the unity and devotion of Bangladeshi Muslims as they mark this sacred occasion.
