Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman today said strict steps have been taken to strengthen security arrangements so that Eid celebrating people can travel and enjoy the Eid vacation safely.

Speaking at a press conference on Eid security at the National Eidgah, he said that special steps have been taken to safeguard travelers heading to their ancestral homes and visitors to entertainment centers.

RAB is also keeping a close watch on major cities to prevent theft and robbery in empty houses during the holidays. 

Security efforts began at the start of Ramadan, focusing on controlling crimes like robbery and extortion amid increased market transactions.

The RAB chief said the importance of heightened vigilance in the three crucial days—before Eid, on Eid day, and the day after.
