BAGERHAT: A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident in Bagerhat and her brother injured critically on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mim Akhter, 14, a class nine student of Paikpara Secondary School, daughter of Shamsher Mallik, hailed from Paikpara village under Fakirhaat upazilla.

Shahin Shahjahan, Sub-Inspector of Bagerhat Model Police Station, told banglanews that a rashly driven truck crushed into their motorbike in Sugandhi area while returning home, leaving Mim dead on the spot and her brother Farid injured critically.

Farid was rushed to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital, he added.
