DHAKA: At least three people including a police man were injured as muggers’ blasted cocktails in east Islambagh area under Chawkbazar Thana of the city on Tuesday morning.

The injured are - Police constable Saidur Rahman, 37, and two passers-by – Sentu and Sani.

Witnesses said constable Saidur went to nab a gang of muggers who were staying in a narrow lane of the area around 6:00am.

The muggers hurled cocktails aiming him, leaving Saidur and two passers-by injured, witnesses added.

Meanwhile, Constable Saidur held a mugger from the spot.

Sub-Inspector of Chawkbazar Thana Mahmudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
