BARISAL: Two people were killed in a road accident at Charmonai in Sadar upazilla of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Bashir, 25 and Nawshad, 40 of the village.

Witnesses said Nawshad was going to Rajarchar from Biswaser Hat by a rented motorbike of Bashir. The motorbike collided with a roadside tree as he lost control while passing another motorbike, leaving Nawshad dead on the spot and Bashir injured critically.

Fatally injured Bashir was rushed to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where he died later.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Sakhawat Hossain confirmed this matter to banglanews.
