CHITTAGONG: A police man was injured in a gunfight with terrorists at Sandweep upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

Police detained two terrorists during the operation, said a spot account of the accident.

Assistant Police Super of Sandweep circle M Salahuddin Shikder informed banglanews that when a team of police forces went to College Bazaar area of the upazilla to arrest enlisted criminals Mosharraf and his cohort Didar and they escaped to a nearby village.

While police reached in the area, terrorists opened fire aiming then, he added that police locked into gunfight to protect themselves.

The ASP said a constable received splinter injury. Meanwhile, police arrested Mamun and Didar.

Led by Officer-in-Charge of Sandweep Police Station, the drive is being continued to arrest Mosharraf, he added.
