Nurul Absar, who was testified against BNP Standing Committee member and former MP Salauddin Quader (Saka) Chowdhury in a war crimes case, has been arrested.
He was detained early Thursday (April 10) from the house of Abdul Gani Majhi in Paschimpara area of Kauarkhop union under Ramu upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
The 60-year arrestee is the son of late Kazi Md Jaber from Chandonpura village in Rangunia, Chattogram.
According to locals, he had been hiding at that house for a long time.
Officer-in-Charge of Ramu Police Station Iman Kanti Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
He said they are checking if there are any cases filed against Absar with Rangunia Police Station.
Legal action will be taken based on the investigation, he added.
