Bangladesh Police has unveiled a newly redesigned monogram featuring national elements to more accurately represent the country’s identity and heritage.
The updated design includes the national flower shapla (water lily), paddy and wheat spikes, and jute leaves. The word "Police" is clearly written above the jute leaf.
A letter signed by Additional DIG (Logistics) Nasima Begum, issued from the Police Headquarters on Thursday (April 10), confirmed the development.
According to the letter, the redesigned monogram has already been finalised and approved by the authorities as part of the decision to replace the current version. It is now awaiting official gazette notification.
Once the gazette is issued, all police units across the country must start using the new monogram. Preparations have been instructed to ensure its use on uniforms, flags, signboards, and other official materials.
Sources said that nationwide implementation of the new monogram will begin soon.
Officials noted that the inclusion of national elements represents the country’s history, tradition, and identity. The redesigned monogram is seen as a modern and thoughtful step that will further enrich the image of the police force.
