Rezaul Karim Malik has been removed from the position of Chief of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The announcement was made on Sunday (April 13), through an official order signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjat Ali.

According to order, Malik, an Additional Commissioner of the DMP, has been reassigned to the DMP headquarters.

Malik had served as the DB Chief since September 1, following a vacancy in the position after August 5 of the previous year.

A member of the 17th BCS (Police) batch, Rezaul Karim Malik joined the Bangladesh Police in 1998 and has previously served in various units, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
