Bashundhara City Shopping Mall hosted an exciting flash mob performance featuring the rhythmic beats of traditional dhak and dhol to celebrate the Bengali New Year.

The event, held on Monday (April 14), was part of the vibrant week-long “Baisakhi Mela,” which began on Sunday and is aimed at engaging visitors of all ages, especially children, on the second day of the festival.

A flash mob involves a group of people who suddenly gather in a public place to perform an energetic display before dispersing, often offering entertainment or an artistic experience. 

Captain (retd) Shaikh Ehsan Reza, Deputy Managing Director of Bashundhara Group BCDL, was present at the occasion, along with other distinguished officials. 

The fair offers a wide range of attractions, such as a Bioscope, Hawai Mithai (cotton candy), an exclusive bangle exhibition, beautiful flowers, and a mix of local and international fashion brands, including B2, Infinity Mega Mall, Shishu Paribahan, Live Shopping, Vogue by Prince, and Splash.

This year marks the debut of a food carnival dedicated to showcasing traditional Bengali cuisine in honor of the Baishakhi festivities. Visitors can savor authentic Bengali dishes such as Panta Hilsa, Hilsa Polao, Hilsa Khichuri, Rupchanda Fry, Bogra Yoghurt, four varieties of Bharta, Daber Pudding, and different types of Pitha (Pathi Sapta, Nalda, Malmoa, Nimki). Other treats include Chini and Jaggery Murali, Kadma/Tila, Chini Hati Ghora, Murir Moa, Nadu, refreshing juices, and Kushtia Kulfi, all available at food stalls like Charui Bhatir Adda, Pitha Puli Asor, and Sharbater Hari on Level 8.

Organizers aim to offer a distinctive experience that merges the essence of Bengali tradition with modern elements, ensuring a memorable celebration for everyone.
