The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in many parts of the country over the next 24 hours starting from 9 am today.

The weather is expected to affect all eight divisions — Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet — with chances of moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at some places.

According to the BMD, a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low persists over the South Bay. Despite the rain, day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged.

On Thursday, Khulna recorded the highest temperature at 36.2°C, while the lowest temperature today was 19.5°C in Saidpur.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:21 pm today and rise at 5:34 am tomorrow.
