4 of a family burnt alive in M’ganj

MUNSHIGANJ: Four members of a family were burnt alive at Binodpur village under Sadar upazila of the district on early Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Firoza Begum, 32, wife of Afzal Hossain, their two sons ---two and half-year old Fahim, four months old Masum, and Afzal’s Mother.

Locals said that the fire originated at 12:30am from their kitchen or electric short circuit which burnt to ashes their tin-shed shanty along with them.

On information, the fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire but could not save the victim.

Police recovered the bodies from the spot.

The family of the victims was working at a rice mill in the area hailing from Barguna district and lived at a tin-shed shanty beside their workplace, locals also added.

In-Charge of Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
