A school student was killed today (May 1) in a road accident at Bethuri village of Palashbari union under Mohammadpur upazila of the district.

The deceased was Abid, 11, a fourth-grade student and son of Obaidur Molla of Khardafulbari village of the upazila.

Abdur Rahman, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station confirmed the matter.

The accident took place at noon, when a truck hit a bicycle from behind, leaving its rider Abid injured critically, he said. 

Later, Abid was taken to Mohammadpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
