Dhaka: A grand rally of the teachers and students of Jagannath University began at the Central Shaheed Minar premise in the capital on Sunday morning.

People of the JnU are holding the rally to realize their demands of rescuing illegally occupied dormitory, establishing new hall and developing infrastructure of the campus.

Began at 9:45am, thousands of teachers and students under the banner of Chattra Sangram Parishad gathered there.

The students were addressing the rally till filling the report.

Meanwhile, additional police forces have been deployed at rally place to avoid any untoward situation.

Police were seen alert there with a standing prison van. Armed Police Battalion (APBn) also remained deployed.
