Abdul Hamid, former President under the ousted Awami League government, left Dhaka for Bangkok early Wednesday.
According to a source at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, he departed at 3:05am on Thai Airways flight TG 340.
He reached the airport around 11pm on Tuesday night and completed immigration procedures before boarding the flight.
His departure comes nine months after the fall of the Awami League government following a mass student and public uprising.
Abdul Hamid is accused in at least one murder case. The case was filed against him at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station on January 14 this year.
