DHAKA: At least five police men and an Ansar member were injured as a truck knocked a police patrol van in Rampura Bridge area in the city early Tuesday.

Of the injured lawmen, five were identified as -- Constable Abdul Momin, Shah Alam, Mobarak, Al Amin and an Ansar man Rafiqul Islam.

Confirming the matter, Badda Thana duty officer Noor Alam Siddique told banglanews, “A truck knocked the police van from behind while it was on duty of patrolling the area around 3:45am, leaving six law enforcers injured.”

Later, the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he added.
