DHAKA: State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said there is no threat from any militant group of home or abroad in the country regarding celebration of Bengali New Year Pahela Baishakh.

Moreover, security measures have been taken to the maximum level in the country to avoid any unexpected incidents like 2001, he added.

The State Minister for Home came up with the disclosure in a press briefing at capital’s Ramna Batamul on Sunday.

Asaduzzaman Khan hoped that any unexpected incidents like 2001, won’t be repeated as the highest security measures have been taken this year in this regard.

Asaduzzaman Khan further said that a large number of law enforcers will be deployed across the country to assure the maximum level of security to the country people during the day.

Inspector General of Police Hassan Mahmud Khandaker, DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed, Additional Commissioners of DMP Ibrahim Fatemi, Maruf Hasan and DMP Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam were also present in the press briefing.
