DHAKA: State minister for ministry of power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid said that government is ready to subsidize renewable energy.

Hamid said on Sunday while speaking as chief guest at a roundtable titled ‘Reserve Renewable Energy Policy’ at Bidyut Bhaban in the capital.

Power ministry joint-secretary Siddique Jubayer presented keynote paper at the meeting, chaired by the ministry’s additional secretary Tapas Kumar Roy.

The policy should indicate the amount of subsidy in urban areas and in rural areas, he added.
