The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression, causing rain in Dhaka and other regions since Thursday morning.
Gusty winds of 60–80 km/h may sweep through Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. River ports have been advised to hoist cautionary signal no. 2, while maritime ports remain under signal no. 3.
Fishing boats have been urged to stay near the coast, and heavy rain has increased the risk of landslides in the hilly areas of Chattogram. Daytime temperatures may drop by 1–2°C nationwide.
