Two unidentified youths have been beaten to death in the Ahmed Nagar area of Darussalam, under Dhaka’s Mirpur locality, police said on Saturday (May 31).

The incident occurred around 12:30 pm in the Haddipatti area of Darussalam Beriband, according to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Hossain of Darussalam Police Station.

"The two victims, believed to be aged between 20 and 25, were beaten to death by unknown individuals. We are working to confirm their identities and addresses," OC Rakibul told Banglanews.

Senior police officials visited the crime scene shortly after the incident was reported. While the motive behind the killings remains unclear, law enforcement officials say an investigation is underway.

"The cause of the attack is still unknown. We are collecting evidence and speaking to potential witnesses to understand what led to the incident," the OC added.

The bodies will be sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy after completion of legal formalities, he said.

No arrests have been made as of Saturday afternoon.
