NARAYANGANJ: A Narayanganj court Sunday placed former Rab officer MM Rana on a 7-day remand in sensational Narayanganj 7-murder case for police interrogation.
Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order after police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea in the afternoon.
On Saturday late night, detectives arrested Rana from Dhaka Cantonment area for his alleged connection with sensational 7-killing case.
Earlier, a district court placed two former RAB officers on a 5-day remand in the same case..
The High Court asked inspector general of police to take steps to arrest the tree Rab officers and hand them over to the detectives investigating in the sensational case.
The three--Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Masud Rana--were removed from RAB-11 on April 29 and forced into retirement on May 6.
On April 30, seven bodies, including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four aides and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.
They were kidnapped from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27.
