CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday placed an accused on a five-day remand in a case of killing two friends in the port city.
Metropolitan Magistrate Hakim Rahmat Ali passed the remand after police produced the accused before the court with 10-day remand.
The accused is Jahangir, 26, son of late Abdul Kader hailed from Harinkata village of Senbagh upazila under Noakhali district.
Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Police (Prosecution) Muhammad Rezaul Masud told banglanews that Jahangir was taken to the DB office after the hearing in the noon.
Three more accused were arrested from Khagrachari in this connection, he added.
Police started investigations in different areas depending on the detainee’s information.
Jahangir was arrested from the port city’s Polytechnic Collage area on Tuesday afternoon after recovering dead bodies of two friends in Chittagong’s Sholashahar. The bodies were recovered from a septic tank of an under construction building on Monday.
Police said the deceased were identified as Kamrul Islam, 18, a HSC examination candidate from the Omar Gani MES College and Forkan Uddin, 19, a readymade garment worker.
They added both of them were involved with politics of Bangladesh Chatra League. Two cases were filed in this connection.
